Earth Water Fire Air: A Waldorf Songbook
Earth Water Fire Air: A Waldorf Songbook
Peter Patterson (author)
The songs and pieces in the book were selected from the author's work with young people over a period of more than fifty years, from kindergarten to high school. They are not intended so much for the specialized Waldorf music lesson, but mainly for all of those times when five or ten minutes of making music can bring a joyful element into the classroom and the home, as well as to subjects as diverse as mythology and mathematics.
Includes CD with 69 songs sung by Peter Patterson.
Peter Patterson studied music at Durham University in the north of England and at colleges of music in Freiburg, Germany, and Lucknow, India. He has been a Waldorf teacher since 1960, first in Britain and later in other countries, particularly in Southeast Asia. He teaches at the Titirangi Rudolf Steiner School near Auckland, New Zealand, where he has lived since 1982 and continues to write new songs for young people. Since childhood, he has enthusiastically studied the world of insects and spiders and wonders how that might have influenced his songwriting.
